Emergency First Aid at Work

This course is ideal for many  small or low risk companies and is usually the minimum legal requirement

This is the HSE approved course is for people who are required to act as an Emergency First Aider at Work. The course has been designed to equip the Emergency First Aider with the skills necessary to take charge and deal with an emergency effectively. The emphasis is placed on preventing situations from becoming worse and maintaining life until help arrives.

A risk assessment of first aid needs will help you determine which course is required to give the best first aid cover for your employees.

Many private individuals also book on to this course as it is an excellent basic first aid course for the general public.  It is a highly participative course with both tutorial and practical sessions.  This course does entail getting down onto the floor to do practical work

The following subjects will be covered on the course

Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)

Choking

Wounds and bleeding

Shock

Minor injuries

Preventing cross infection, recording incidents and actions and the use of available equipment

Upon completion of the course a certificate will be issued which is valid for three years however HSE Strongly Recommend that an annual refresher is attended every year!

This can be done as on site training or if you do not have a room we can provide one and it is run as an open course where the general public can attend as well.
